When you don’t know what to do, what do you do? 🤔

Are you stuck and don’t know what next to do? Maybe you are just out of school or out of job and the next step looks so blurry.

Occasionally in life, (I don’t know if this happens to everybody) we get to a point when we don’t know what to do.

We kind of get stuck and even though the future looks so bright, we have a vision of our desired end and we are optimistic but we can’t just bridge the gap of where we currently are and where we want to be. Everything just looks unclear and annoying.

It is okay if we can’t figure out the whole future.

it is okay not to know what you want to do with your life.

I personally have two decade of experience in different roles and some point I really got tired of what I was doing and wanted something different, something new, something exciting.

I had to take out time to analyse my old dreams and see how relevant they are to my future Some of the question I asked myself was what are the things I wanted to do before now but haven’t been able to do it due marriage, raising kids, the 9–5 job and generally lack of time? What would really makes me happy, feel fulfilled and I would love doing no matter what?

One of them is writing and that’s how I found myself here. Will I make something out of it? Sure! Time will tell. I will keep you posted 😀. It’s a journey I am ready to take.

Back to the question; when you don’t know what to do, what do you do?

• Ask yourself real and meaningful questions. Be truthful to yourself. Do a self-assessment of your life: past, current and desired future.

• Be focused. Focus on the ends, not the means.

• Identify the things you enjoy doing. if you continually pursue things that you enjoy doing either for a job or hobby, it will make the journey interesting and more fun. Remember, you don’t know what’s coming next. Life is full of interesting twists and turns.

• Be ready to pay the price. Nothing goes for nothing. If you have something you want to pursue, then you must be able to live with some amount of discomfort in order to achieve that.

• Take those first steps, take action, get working. You won’t get anywhere merely thinking about how great you could be. Think and take action immediately. Don’t be distracted by things happening around and stop procrastinating.

• Volunteer and learn from someone that has the first-hand experience. Get your hands dirty and have a hands-on experience. Once you start getting things done, the doing isn’t as hard as it once was. It becomes habitual. You may even enjoy it.

In conclusion, keep going on, aspire more, achieve more.

Give it all it takes.
