Execution is the power that nurtures and makes an idea outshine.

At a tactical level, it is about the ability of individuals and/or teams to effectively and collaboratively deliver a task or series of tasks.

The best definition of execution is PROMISE MADE, PROMISE KEPT.

8 habits which execution mindset should have:

📌 Envision the end

For successful execution, you need to envision the end. What do the end results you have in your mind look like? Having a clear picture of your end will help sharpen your expectations and prompt the measures to put in place to achieve them.

If you can see the result, it will happen.

“I recommend that you look at the tasks you are doing throughout your day and ask yourself if these things are bringing you closer to your goals?” ~

Richie Norton

“Success is deciding from the start what end result you want and creating the circumstances to realize that result” ~ Mark Victor Hansen

📌 Plan from the beginning

A plan is a strategy plus tactics, a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something. A good plan is based upon clear, well-defined and easily understood objectives. What is your plan? How do you want to achieve your end results? For effective execution, you need a plan.

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.” — Eleanor Roosevelt

📌 Solution Mindset

An attitude that always focuses on solving problems, rather than getting stuck when challenges arise, is the need of the hour.

The mindset is: There is a solution to this problem or situation. … I will devise a workable plan and make it work.

Being solution-minded means you won’t sleep until you help find the answer and/or fix the problem. This requires the ability to think, evaluate, analyze, and decide clearly and quickly, in such a way that helps solve the problem.

A leader is not afraid of failure. The solution mindset is resolute on delivery and has the belief that there is always a way. This is where creativity sets in.

“Identify your problems but give your power and energy to solutions.” ~ Anonymous

“Impossible only means that you haven’t found the solution yet.” ~ Anonymous

📌 Inspire Creativity

For effective execution, you need to change your mindset from why? to why not?

Creativity allows us to view and solve problems more openly and with innovation. Creativity opens the mind, inspires collective thinking and nurtures ideas.

We are all born with a wild imagination and so there is space for us all to be creative.

Ways to become a more creative person are Drawing, painting, doodle, doing something physical, embrace boredom, watch a TED talk or listen to a podcast, generate way more ideas than you think you actually need, make time for play, be a lifelong learner….

Encouraging yourself to think outside of the box and give yourself the time and resources to explore new areas for innovative ideas is the key to cost-effective executions.

“An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.” ~Edwin Land

“The comfort zone is a great enemy of creativity.” ~Dan Stevens

📌 Inspire Resilience

No good thing comes easily. Many people don’t realise how close they were to success before they gave up.

Resilience is the psychological strength to deal with stress, setbacks, crises and an array of hardships that confront us in life. When life situations get out of kilter, resilience is the one quality and skill we need most to get us through the difficult times.

Resilience is important because it gives you the strength needed to process and overcome hardship.

Those lacking resilience get easily overwhelmed and may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Resilient people tap into their strengths and support systems to overcome challenges and work through problems.

“Resilience is knowing that you are the only one that has the power and the responsibility to pick yourself up.” ~ Mary Holloway

“Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient.” ~ Dr Steve Maraboli

📌 Inspire Potential

Potential is the latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness. It is the possibility of becoming something. It refers to a currently unrealized ability.

If you have a team, bring out the best in them. Even you, bring out the best in you! Remind yourself of the big picture, become the most positive person you know and treat time like gold.

Become the best person you can be. That’s the only honourable aim there is.

“You have the potential to be anything you want.” ~ Fran Watson

“Stop limiting your potential. Realize that there’s an unlimited amount of things that you can do with your life.” ~ Sonya Parker

📌 Communicate To Ignite

A good leader is someone who communicates effectively. Being a leader is a task in and of itself, without having to inspire and ignite others. But like with becoming a leader, being able to ignite others is crucial.

Schedule communication-oriented meetings, get personal, keep everyone in the loop, show interest in concerns and solutions, encourage everyone’s input,

keep the lines of your communication open.

A leader has to communicate the vision and goals to his team to motivate them to achieve them with efficiency.

Good communication is frequent, focused, tailored and has some mechanism to make it a dialogue, rather than a monologue,” he explains. Being able to think about the point of view of others is key. One regular communication mistake is to believe everyone knows what we know.

For effective communication, you must be motivated and inspired yourself, you will never inspire others unless you are motivated and inspired yourself, treat each person in your team as an individual. People are motivated in different ways.

Provide them with a challenge, keep them informed of progress, and create a motivating environment.

“Conversation, like certain portions of the anatomy, always runs more smoothly when lubricated” ~

Doug Wright

“The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives” ~ Anthony Robbins

📌 Lead By Example

Leaders don’t simply lead by telling others what to do. They lead by showing others what to do, by setting a good example themselves.

Great leaders remind themselves regularly that actions speak louder than words. · Get your hands dirty. Do the work and know your trade.

As a leader, you are your team’s celebrity. You have to lead by example at all times. When you lead by example, you create a picture of what’s possible. People can look at you and say, “Well, if he can do it, I can do it.” When you lead by example, you make it easy for others to follow you.

When you walk the talk, you’ll be a better and more effective leader.

“Leadership is not a position or a title; it’s action and example.” ~ Cory Booker

“The three most important ways to lead people are:… by example… by example… by example.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

In conclusion, the best habit for execution is

JUST DO IT!
